A Traditional Material for a Revolutionary Use

After in-depth research and development, we determined that cork shines where other materials fail. Cork is the bark from the cork oak, Quercus suber, which grows in the Mediterranean but can survive in other areas with a similar climate. The natural characteristics of raw cork have made it an outstanding material choice for thousands of years. Cork has many applications, not just as a stopper in the wine industry. It’s been widely used for gaskets, fishing rod handles, floats, insulation, shoe soles, aerospace components, soundproofing and flooring.

The Technology of Cork Composite Material

Evercor chose a technological innovation that leverages cork’s unique characteristics beyond its natural abilities. Blending this 100% natural matter with rubber polymers created a material that was dense enough to be more durable than other decking options. Evercor cork composite has proven to outperform these other options.

Cork composite is more dense than other soft decking options but remains comfortable underfoot in temperature and compression. Its strength prevents damage from use and will not rip or tear. It remains unharmed by magnified sunlight (light amplification) and is stable during temperature fluctuations (thermal expansion) unlike what other soft decking materials commonly used may be susceptible to.
